Hi, I'm trying to install 2.5.52-lsm1 and having trouble. Any suggestions?
When I try to do a modules_install, I get "unresolved symbols" messages.
It's probably something simple, but I just don't recognize the problem, and
I didn't have this problem on my previous test box.
Hopefully someone else here will say "oh, that's just X."

I'm starting with a clean Red Hat 8.0 installation, then recompiling
2.5.52-lsm1 (using gcc 3.2 - is that acceptable?).
After configuring, "make dep && make bzImage && make modules"
works fine, but as superuser I then try to run "make modules_install"
and I get "unresolved symbols" error messages. That can't be good.

Also - don't I need to upgrade some programs to handle the 2.5 kernel,
say modutils, and modify the initialization scripts?
I've been using 2.4 kernels before, but at this point it seems that
I should try testing on a 2.5 series.

Here are the error messages; I'll post my .config if that would help:

     if [ -r System.map ]; then /sbin/depmod -ae -F System.map 2.5.52-lsm1; fi
