I hate to beat a dead horse but I had to laugh when I read the article! I
am in the San Francisco bay area and while there are some jobs posted on
monster and such, no one seems to be hiring. I have replied to several but
no response. If I wanted to relocate to DC I could have had a new job two
months ago and had received a call on Tuesday for one there as well.

I hate to say it but I think there is still a lack of concern in corp
America when it comes to information security. There is a stronger focus on
firewalls, IDS and viruses but lacking on security awareness, interal
controls and disaster recovery. Perhaps if shareholders understood how
insecure the networks of the companies they invested in were, we would have
more concern. One VP of Information Systems actually stated that "security
was an insurance policy he could not afford". I think it safe to say the
attitude has not changed much in the last couple of years and even the last
    couple of months.
