    From my experience being a consultant is the only way to go in the
    Denver area.  Very few people seem to be hiring full time information
    security people here.  There seems to be a need for security work,
    however.  This makes for lots of short term contracts.

    You guys are lucky here in Romania (eastern europe) almost all companies hire 
    1 (ONE) administrator who is in charge of almost everything... from the local 
    network, to maintaining the website and covering the security too... (usually 
    he has to fix broken laptops, modems, change cables and clean up) NOBODY is 
    actually interested in taking a security consultant, OR hiring someone for 
    keeping an eye on the security...
