Anitian started building plans to do a "Pacific Northwest Security Summit" last year, but abandoneded it because it was just too expensive and time consuming. Opting instead for smaller, sponsored seminars. Maybe the time is ripe to do an Oregon version of DefCon/BlackHat? And I have just the spot for it. It's a bit expensive, but it's all inclusive (food, housing, ameneties). Near Detroit, Or, is a wilderness retreat center called Breitenbush Hot Springs. The Radical Faeiries, a group that I am in, use it twice a year for gatherings. It's relatively small (max capacity of about 200), but, for a local PDX 'con,it might be sufficient. Best thing I like about it, is that it's off the grid, away from everything, and self contained; all which make for an idel 'focused' gathering with no distractions. Mark Allyn
